We focused on the impressive range of meaning one can gather from the elements of Fire and Water: You never know when you’re going to need some psychic inspiration—a reminder of the connections you have to the divine, and how to tap into the richness of the way simple elements and symbols present themselves to you—in coincidences, dreams, tarot cards or art.

You can apply a personal situation you’re going through to a situation represented in a postcard image. Like, say, you just met this guy, or, you signed a contract on a job. We’re inquiring into it through how we see the elements of fire, water, earth and air behaving.

Earth and Air are as polar opposite as Fire and Water. Earth needs Air. Soil and Air feed the plants. But if Air gets mad, you have a tornado on your hands and Dorothy best run into the cellar! All the elements can amaze us. Fire can be the forest burning down, which cleanses it actually. Water, the trickling fountain at your favorite spa, or thundering Niagara Falls.

When we study the images in the photos that emerge for you, themes come up. Experience has said that most times, several of them will immediately resonate with you. “Here’s A Story Of A Lovely Lady…” If you were a television junkie like me growing up, you might recognize this lyric from ABC’s The Brady Bunch. I was only two when it came out in ’69. Almost all the after school TV I watched growing up were reruns. Star Trek, Bewitched, Gilligan’s Island, Bob Newhart, The Jetsons…

A little while back, a client came in for an in-person session. Her name happened to be Brady, a detail that would lead to a spot on psychic insight.

From my years in New York and Honolulu— two multi-cultural, melting-pot cities—I became attuned to regional accents. Many of my clients have moved around a lot. When a mix of accents come out of someone, I don’t attempt to plumb origins. Others can say one word and give away the region of their roots.

Have you ever conversed with someone whose accent is as flat as a newscaster. You might assume they’re American but then they pronounce the word, ‘about’ as ‘abōat’? You think, “Oh! You’re from Canada aren’t you?”

I’m working towards some psychic magic here. This Brady lady was recently vacationing in Honolulu (Bunch Insiders: sound like a familiar episode?). Her reading felt cathartic and insightful, mostly because of her willing participation and buoyant spirit. The most rewarding readings are sprinkled with levity between the tender moments. This was one of them.

Her accent is completely neutral. No drawl or glottal stops. None of the vowels have diacritical marks. My opening question to her might have been because her name is Brady. I leaned back and thought of Florence Henderson, the mother on the TV show. For years she famously appeared in TV ads for Florida Orange Juice. But surely the show was filmed in Hollywood? I asked, “Do you happen to come from or live in Orange County California?”

She looked at me for a good five seconds. A closed-lipped smile slowly appeared on her face. “I was born there and raised between Huntington Beach and San Diego. How on earth did you arrive at that?”

“For an answer you’ll have to take my online psychic class.” I continued, still going off the Brady Bunch impression. “So would you say you have, uh, two families, kinda merged together?”

“Yes, after divorcing my dad my mother married to a guy who had two sons. I was about three.”

A reading with me, the greatest psychic on earth, includes an arrangement of cards as unique to you as your thumb print. The facets of your diamond mind are mindbogglingly infinite. When you break them down into simple components such as say, the four directions or four elements, the insights evolve into intricate strands, like a helix of DNA.

It takes a master (that’s me) to consider an image's countenance, behavior, reputation, purpose, etc and turn it into a piercingly brilliant psychic insight. Well, some of them. Not all.

For example, consider just two of the four elements: Fire (drive), Water (emotion), Earth (material possessions) and Air (ideas) are represented in pictures. Then there are the vertical forms of each of them. For example, how is your fire/drive appearing? As a spark? A firework, candle, warming fire, cooking fire, house fire, wildfire, lava (blasting or oozing), ember?

And water/emotions. How are they running? Like dew drops? Swamp, puddle, faucet drip, running tap, babbling brook, stream, river (raging or meandering), pond, lake, ocean, waterfall, steam (Ooh! A mix of Ideas and Emotions). Let’s see…does someone need to blow off some steam? Or are they steaming mad? Hovering over a hot cup of joe? Steaming dumplings? Tending steaming machinery?)

Welcome To The Psychic Game!
Fun for Ages 5 to 105.
On a late October Sunday, only about twenty people were spread out on half a mile of pristine beach on the windward side of Oahu. My friend and I agreed: the Gold Prize for the most perfect, turquoise tropical sea goes to Hawai'i. We were splayed out under the shade of a palm—adorned, a la ZZ Top, with cheap sunglasses. It was a central casting moment. A cooler of sandwiches, sodas, fruit, and chips was positioned between us. Vast spaces of silence stretched out between our utterances.

Two local kids slid into the surf on their boogie boards trying to get the best rush they could out of the tame waves. Gesturing to the ocean, I said, “It’s Sunday. Where are all the people when God gave us this?" Not that I wanted them there. My friend's answer struck me as somewhat obvious. I replied, “Oh...Of course.”
