When you’re in a psychic reading with me, I’m uncovering insights from very basic psychic symbols. Like Rock, Anchor, Hook, Cloud, Turtle, Mountain. You’ll be surprised by what I can squeeze out of a rock when it comes to the psychic messages it holds. You'll have fun with this. Here is a hypothetical dilemma a client might present to me. This condensed version of how a reading might flow is strictly for the purpose of demonstrating the numerous insights that can be drawn from the symbol of Rock. Client—“Derek, I started a job about a month ago and I’m really struggling with it. Do you think I’ll get to know it and like it and stay?”
Me— “Yes I do. [I see my client as a Rock] I don’t think you’re leaving anytime soon. You’ll probably stay for years.” Client— “Oh God!” Me, Laughing— "Well, didn’t you stay at your last job for quite a number of years, like over 10?” [Rocks don’t move around. If I got a Butterfly, I never would have said that]. “It was 14.” “Mmmm. Not surprising. And you’re in insurance?” [Prudential Insurance is famous for it’s logo, the Rock of Gibraltar.] “Yes.” [Insurance is a symbol of its own. It signals protection, security, peace of mind.] “And there’s this guy who’s desk is next to mine and he…” “Says stupid things?” [The idiom, He’s got rocks in his head means, acts stupidly.] “OMG He’s a complete idiot. And my boss, she just piles all this paperwork onto me.” I wince, “Oooh, I can see how that would be tough. [Paper beats Rock in the Chinese game Rock, Paper, Scissors] “But I just want you to know that if you give it time, you’re going to Rock this job, OK? I can see it.” Now, here are the same questions but the psychic symbol is: CLOUDS Client—“Derek, I started a job about a month ago and I’m really struggling with it. Do you think I’ll get to know it and like it and stay?” Me— “Mmmm, I’m sorry, I don’t think you stay that long. [I see my client as a Cloud] I think you’re just passing through. “Oh God!” “I understand that might not be the response you wanted to hear. Have you worked across state lines? Traveled with your work? It’s like you disappear, then appear. Or have you floated through various positions or jobs?" [Clouds move around. If I got a Mountain, I never would have said that]. “I’m just tired of looking. I’ve been at a few places since I graduated. This firm was focused on the TriState area but they’re making a push into Georgia and Florida.” “Mmmm. That doesn’t make sense. [Clouds flow up the eastern seaboard, not down]. It’s like they’re going against logic, or not ready. Are you in tech?” [Information from our computers is stored in a Cloud.] “Yes.” [Tech is a symbol of its own. It signals a fast moving, ever changing field, where innovative new platforms are constantly appearing on the winds of an ever changing world.] “And there’s this guy who’s desk is next to mine and he…” “He’s absentminded?” [The idiom, 'He’s got his head up in the clouds' means, acts in an aloof way.] “OMG He’s so dingy! He's not present. And my boss, she just piles all this paperwork onto me.” “Mmmm…you know what? I think some winds will come and blow some of that paperwork over to another colleague’s desk. [Clouds do fly on the wind].

My comment on Dissecting a Psychic Reading / Anatomy of a Symbol was very interesting and fun. I tried this exercise on myself! If I had asked myself years ago would I become a teacher I would have chose the mountain. The goal of mountain climbers are to reach the summit! Climbers prepare themselves for the challenging steps. I prepared myself for the required steps to become a teacher. My steps were courses, papers, projects, workshops, student teaching. Most importantly I had to have my masters degree in education! I reached the summit of my mountain. I became a teacher, and I am retired! What a challenge!
