Everything in the Universe is a symbol. Cast your eyes in any direction, your gaze would be met by one. Within a few minutes you'll probably tool through your email, visit a website, or download an app. Even if you were shopping or using a dishwasher—a symbol would guide your every move.
It becomes sort of like playing a game of Charades, where I begin to draw meaning from the thing based upon how, when or where it appears in my surroundings.
In my psychic workshops, I guide participants toward visions through imagination exercises. When my students arrive at those visions they often feel baffled to see ordinary things, like flowers, hills or stars. Even an ordinary thing can carry a lot of meaning. I try to not discount a symbol on account of its ubiquity. So on this August day I thought I’d share how I might uncover psychic meaning in a symbol that you might commonly be seeing around town right now: The Sunflower. The Long Flashy Petals Sunflowers exude optimism. It's as if they exist to inspire us with their disposition toward a sunny outlook on life. I recently bought a bouquet. And for about a week they enthusiastically greeted me from the coffee table. Whenever I walked into the room, to my psychic mind, they'd exclaim, “Hello Derek!” When sunflowers visit you, it means that this is your time to shine. You might also find inspiration in someone with a dynamic personality. Nature’s Iris Once in a while we become captivated by the color of someone’s eyes. We say to ourselves, “Wow, so beautiful.” Looking into a sunflower pulls you into a state of admiration. The flowers seem to call our attention. When a sunflower visits you, look to be amazed. Mathematical Infinity and the Fibonacci Sequence When I peer into a sunflower, I can’t help but wonder at the evolutionary intelligence that so precisely arranged its seeds. All the never-ending spirals give me a sense that there's a grand symmetry with the universe on display. In a reading, I would interpret this phenomenon to suggest studying a subject of infinite depth, like philosophy, a foreign language or a musical instrument. I’d say that 'possibilities are endless’ or 'there is no need to obsess about figuring everything out. Some things are meant to be left a mystery.' Action in the Scene When interpreting a psychic symbol I ask, “What action is it taking?" Is the symbol leaving, coming, content, restless? Young sunflowers are so entranced by the sun that they constantly turn toward it as it crosses the sky. Older sunflowers give up this ritual and set themselves facing east. In a psychic reading, I would see consistent patterns of behavior in my client with almost no deviation. The themes I’d explore when looking at a sunflower might be reliability, predictability, optimism, worship, and routine ways. Images carry many therapeutic messages. I hope that my methodology inspires you to observe and derive meaning from a symbol that attracts your attention. It may be from a dream, a coincidence or The Postcard Tarot. I’d look forward to interpreting them with you!

Three weeks ago I had a sty on my eye. I went to my Dr. and he said it was infected. He prescribed medicine. I came home and my daughter put the medicine which was a sab in my eye. I went in my room to change my tarot card which I have on my dresser. I took one card from the deck and it was a picture of a Shaman with this lady sitting on the table looking at the Shaman to get examined. What a coincidence. It was a wow factor for me.I just stared at the card and said to myself “You just came from the Dr.” Good day for me!
