![]() Spider is one of the infinite psychic symbols that might pop out of my printed postcard tarot deck. This eight legged oddity generally advises patience, as they spend much of their time waiting for their food. It also represents craftsmanship and construction, as they build their own homes. They’re clever and sneaky, striving to ensure they’re not seen, perhaps like a detective or secret shopper. Spiders don’t all behave alike. For example, have you ever seen a bug, like on a swamp or still pond, the kind that live on top of the water? Well, this spider hunts them, running across the surface to capture its next meal. They'll go for small fish too! My brother came upon one and looked it up. A search revealed it to likely be a Dark Fishing Spider (which I’ve nicknamed The Jesus Spider for its ability to run on water). I print photos like this on postcard stock for my tarot deck. When this spider pops out, it’ll represent a unique method or style of living. It could also represent a niche business or marketing angle. That could apply in lots of ways: a golf swing? I have a Chinese friend who holds her chopsticks in the most peculiar way, a manner she picked up as a child and never outgrew. Spider can represent building a home. In any case, the hunt is on. So much is happening around us that we don’t see. The photo of this specimen is in the queue to be sent to the printer for my tarot deck. The deck is replete with creatures of many talents: talents that may be yours. Dolphins play, are great communicators and stick together. Cats are more independent. Mice, sneaky. Fowl, up early. Wolves, alert with a keen sense of smell. Other creatures from nature populate the deck. It’s interesting to identify with their many talents. Do you need to conserve energy, hibernate away from the crowd for a while? Call Bear. In a reading, when an animal or insect appears, I make a point of studying it for its personality and lifestyle traits. Thinking of taking swift action on an issue? Spider might suggest patience, wait. Animals can convey time too. Like a Robin, spring. A Monarch butterfly, summer. Sometimes it's by association. I hear an owl hoot and because I used to hear them on cold December or January nights in Rhode Island, I associate it with winter. For a psychic reading with me, send an email to [email protected]. I generally read from 2:30pm to 9:00pm Eastern Time.
