'When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that’s amore!' In your mind, I bet you sang that sentence. It’s practically impossible not to sing some lyrics as you read them. That imaginary space is where psychic ideas come from. There are dozens of famous songs about the moon sung by the likes of David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and on and on. 'How High the Moon’, Moon River’, ‘Fly Me To The Moon’...And don’t forget ‘Walking on the Moon’, by The Police. In my readings and psychic classes I employ active imagination exercises (don’t worry, I won’t make you sing). They facilitate a mindful dip into what I call Symbolic Reality. Starting in September, I’m offering online psychic classes the first Sunday of every month, 4pm-5:30pm Eastern. The fee is $35. Register Here: https://www.derekcalibre.com/psychic-class.html Now you can read about the powerful magnetic qualities of the moon on my fabuloso blog (which features audio tours of Central Park, contemplations on the aliveness of trees, Aumakuas, an more).
I have four moons in my deck of about 500 postcard tarot cards. They include a collage I made, and photos of a blue moon, a harvest moon and a quarter moon, the last of which is actually the frame of a window from a Japanese restaurant I frequented in Tokyo. I’m thinking to incorporate all twelve of the monthly moons if I can find them, plus all the four phases. You see, when it’s July and you ask me when I see an event happening, and the harvest moon shows up in your reading, I’m going to say, “In about four months, maybe three.” The moon is tricky. What is it trying to say when it comes up in a reading? On one level, it’s undeniably a magnet. It glows at night. This is why it’s associated with romance and magic. With all its cycles, the moon represents change, fluctuating conditions.
